Review of Week 4 and Preview of Week 5

Students,

Here is a brief recap of our learning and activities completed during the fourth week of school and a preview of what’s to come next week.

Week 4 Review

During whole -and small-group discussions, we learned, practiced, and applied the strategies to unlock Context Clues: Definition, Restatement/Synonym, Compare & Contrast, Example/Explanation, Punctuation and the General Sense of the Sentence.

*Other Strategies practiced:

Deconstructing and Constructing text & and the 4-Step Prefix Strategy.

 

Week 5 Preview

 

Students will gain insight into an Author's Purpose and Perspective via the identification and analysis of word choice, style, and tone.

 

*In-Class Novel Reading: Truancy.  Students, please secure the book by September 20th.
