Wrapping up the Week:
Students, we have had a great time identifying our preferred learning style. In addition, I am proud of how you have applied the Superintendent's Super Six Reading Strategies to construct meaning in text. You have shown effective use of your Metacognitive skills.
Thursday and Friday, we will take the District's Writing Prompt Assessment - first one for the school year. Afterwards, we will finish illustrating our Super Six Hero characters and finalize how each class will present the Multiple Intelligences data. Wow! We are off to a great start.

Our Deepest Fear
Students, allow me to share one of my favorite poems.
Our Deepest Fear
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
